PRESENTATO IN GRAND PUBLIC ALLA XVIII FESTA DEL CINEMA DI ROMA (2023)
Recensione di Catello Masullo: Un piccolo gioiello di grazia, di gradevolezza, di gentilezza, di ironia, di garbo. Ua sorta di fiaba dei buoni sentimenti, di accoglienza del diverso senza pregiudizi e senza timori infondati, anche se proviene da una lontana galassia e non parla la nostra lingua. Un capolavoro di recitazione, tutta in sottrazione, impareggiabilmente ironica, di Ben Kingley, “ben” supportato (è il caso di scriverlo…) da uno stuolo di professionisti in stato di grazia. Regia e scrittura magistrali. Da non perdere. Meritato il Premio MIGLIOR COMMEDIA – PREMIO “UGO TOGNAZZI” alla Festa del Cinema di Roma, attribuito da una giuria presieduta dall’attrice francese Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu e composta dal regista e sceneggiatore italiano Alessandro Aronadio e dalla sceneggiatrice italiana Lisa Nur Sultan (scelto fra i titoli delle sezioni Concorso Progressive Cinema, Freestyle e Grand Public).
Curiosità, ho chiesto al regista: “Si tratta di un soggetto originale, oppure deriva da un racconto, un romanzo?”. La risposta, spiritosa ed ironica, in linea con lo spirito del film, da parte del regista Marc Turtletaub: “Si, si tratta di un soggetto originale. Deriva dal fatto che effettivamente è atterrata una astronave aliena nel mio giardino…”.
Valutazione sintetica: 8.5
