SINOSSI | SYNOPSIS
Camille, dodici anni, è appassionata di circo ed è la sorella maggiore della sua numerosa famiglia. Un giorno, i suoi genitori entrano a far parte di una comunità Cattolica, basata su condivisione e solidarietà, alla quale si dedicano completamente. Poco a poco, Camille dovrà accettare uno stile di vita che mette in dubbio i suoi desideri, la sua vita sociale ed i suoi tormenti interiori. Inizia così una lotta per liberarsi da questa morsa, rivendicare la sua libertà e salvare i suoi fratelli e sorelle.
Camille, twelve years-old, passionate about circus, is the eldest of a large family. One day, her parents join a Catholic community, based on sharing and solidarity, in which they fully invest. Gradually, Camille must accept a way of life which questions her desires, social life and own torments. She then begins a fight to get rid of this hold, assert her freedom and save her brothers and sisters.

Nata nel 1981, Sarah Suco è un’attrice di teatro e di cinema. Tra gli altri film, ha recitato in particolare in Discount (in quanto promessa femminile al French Césars nel 2016) e in Les Invisibles di Louis-Julien Petit, La belle saison di Catherine Corsini, Aurore di Blandine Lenoir, Guy di Alex Lutz e Place publique di Agnès Jaoui. Inoltre scrive opere tetrali e ha realizzato il cortometraggio Nos Enfants, premiato in occasione di vari festival. Les Eblouis (The Dazzled) è il suo primo lungometraggio da regista. Il film ha ricevuto da poco il Prix Cinéma 2019 dalla Barrière Foundation.
Born in 1981, Sarah Suco is a theater and film actress. Among others films, she has notably played in Discount (Female Newcomer at the French Césars in 2016) and Les Invisibles by Louis-Julien Petit, La belle saison (Summertime) by Catherine Corsini, Aurore by Blandine Lenoir, Guy by Alex Lutz and Place publique by Agnès Jaoui. Moreover, she writes plays and the short film Nos enfants (Our children), awarded in many festivals. Les Eblouis (The Dazzled) is her first feature film as a Director. The film has just received the Prix Cinéma 2019 from the Barrière Foundation.
Recensione di Anna Piccini : Meritato il trionfo nel concorso di Alice nella Citta’ di questo “The Dazzled” , in originale “Les Éblouis” (gli abbagliati). Un film di rande potenza e forza espressiva. Davvero sorprendente per una regista esordiente come Sarah Suco. Mette in luce quali possano essere i rischi di essere abbagliati da organizzazioni religiose integraliste. E quali i rischi di poter fare del male , credendo di fare del bene. E, soprattutto, quali rischi si corrono nel voler imporre ai propri figli le proprie scelte di vita estreme. Un film che fa molto riflettere. Da non perdere.
